Jessica Capshaw is staying!

Jessica Capshaw is staying on GreysAs Michael Ausiello over at Entertainment Weekly put it – Callie’s new girlfriend is a keeper! Grey’s Anatomy has signed actress Jessica Capshaw, who plays pediatrician Arizona Robbins, to a contract, sources confirm to EW exclusively.

The deal calls for Capshaw to appear in all remaining episodes this season with an option to return as a series regular next fall. She was initially signed for only three episodes, but the possibility existed that it could turn into something more permanent.

EW writes:

News of Capshaw’s promotion should silence critics who sounded the anti-gay alarm after ABC kindly asked Grey’s creator Shonda Rhimes to banish Callie’s first girlfriend, the brusque and ballsy Dr. Hahn (played by Brooke Smith), to the hospital’s parking lot. “The character was not working for us and the relationship was not working for us,” Alphabet prez Steve McPherson acknowledged last month at press tour.

Shonda Rhimes: ‘Heigl & Knight aren’t leaving’

Posted on February 16th, 2009 by Admin | Posted in Grey's Anatomy News, James T. Pickens, Katherine Heigl, T.R. Knight | 2 Comments »

Katherine Heigl and TR Knight not leaving GreysThere are always rumors going around that certain actors are leaving Grey’s Anatomy.

Ever since Katherine Heigl got her movie career going, people have been saying that she wants to leave the show and concentrate on that instead, but Izzie Stevens is still around (for now), so those rumors were obviously untrue.

But the rumors recently started again when co-star James Pickens Jr. stated that both Heigl and T.R. Knight were to leave the show.

But now writer and creator Shonda Rhimes is setting the record straight by saying it’s only “a rumor” and that Pickens’s words were taken out of context.

Greys tries to get back to the good ol' daysNicole Homewood from the New York Post has written an article about Grey’s Anatomy and how the show has become more depressing as of late, but is trying is get back to the good ol’ days, where the story lines were focused on the characters and their personal lives, rather than the patients and their illnesses.

I have to admit the recent episodes have been quite depressing and has focused a lot on the patients, there’s been very little comedy, but I am glad the show is finally going somewhere now.

With Denny out of the picture (finally!), we now know what the whole point of him was, to tell Izzie she is sick.

Hopefully soon something will happen with Derek and Meredith and the pending proposal *fingers crossed.* Read the article after the jump!

T.R. Knight to leave the show?

T.R. Knight leaving Greys AnatomyGrey’s Anatomy star T.R. Knight, who has played lovable intern George O’Malley since the show’s debut, has asked producers to write him off the hit medical drama.

While details of his exit have yet to be ironed out, a source close to the situation says that it seems likely Knight’s request will be granted and he will be released from his contract.

Recent reports that Knight has not been attending table-reads for upcoming episodes or that he had walked off the set and cleaned out his dressing room are inaccurate, a rep for Knight tells People Magazine: “He has been there every day. He was at a table read yesterday. He hasn’t said goodbye to anyone.” The rep had no further comment on his possible exit.

Blind Item: Which actor is in the dog house?

Posted on December 3rd, 2008 by Admin | Posted in Grey's Anatomy News | 8 Comments »

Why does a certain character on Grey’s Anatomy suddenly have so little to do?

It’s a question many readers have been emailing about, and now, inside sources are spilling what’s going on behind the scenes.

Before you read any further, however, be forewarned: Naming names is impossible–the truth is a little ugly–so read on only if you want to join the guessing game…

A source close to the show tells me, “The reason [the actor] has not been on is because [he or she] has been a pain in the ass lately, trying to change scenes and dialogue, being hard to work with and putting up an attitude. The higher-ups were getting tired of it, so they tweaked [him or her] out of some episodes. That’s why you haven’t really seen [him or her] lately.”

A second source seconds that emotion: “[He or she] is not really getting along too well with producers right now.”

Dempsey talks about Smith being fired

Posted on November 5th, 2008 by Admin | Posted in Grey's Anatomy News | No Comments »

Fans were shocked by Grey’s Anatomy’s sudden decision to fire Brooke Smith (who plays Dr. Erica Hahn). Turns out, costar Patrick Dempsey was just as caught off-guard.

“ABC actually sends me over what I should [say] …,” he tells Ellen DeGeneres on her talk show Wednesday.

So what’s the official spin?

“ABC’s response … is that [I] should say: ‘We’ve had a great time working with her and that the conclusion of her [character] has been orgasmic’ — I’m sorry, I’m dyslexic! — ‘organic’ ending to the story line.’ “

Brooke Smith fired from Greys Anatomy

The romance is over for Brooke Smith’s character on Grey’s Anatomy: the actress has abruptly been written out of the hit medical drama.

Smith, whose character Dr. Erica Hahn had just begun a lesbian affair with Sara Ramirez’s Dr. Callie Torres on the ABC show, told EW.com that Grey’s creator Shonda Rhimes “just suddenly told me that they couldn’t write for my character anymore.” Adds Smith, “it was the last thing I expected.”

Smith’s last Grey’s appearance will be Thursday’s episode, but don’t expect any closure for her character. “My final scene is just me heading to my car,” says Smith. “I honestly don’t know what happens in the next episode.”

Cast Discuss Grey’s Finale and Future

Posted on June 2nd, 2008 by Admin | Posted in Grey's Anatomy News | 4 Comments »

This past weekend, Grey’s Anatomy star Eric Dane and his wife, Rebecca Gayheart, hosted the Chrysalis Awards in Los Angeles. Dane’s friends and co-stars came out to support the event. James Pickens, Katherine Heigl, Kate Walsh, and T.R. Knight were all on hand at the awards ceremony and dished on Grey’s finale and future.

T.R. Knight had a lot say about his character from the women he’s loved to whether or not he’d go gay for a member of Seattle Grace. “Oh, that’s not who he is,” Knight laughed. “That’s now how I’ve been playing him! That would be a different character!” He also dished on his season finale kiss with costar Chyler Leigh, though he was just as surprised by it as the viewers were. “What was up with that?” he wondered. He continued on about Leigh saying, “She’s really funny and it’s really fun to work with her. I like the dorky actor ‘craft’ part of it, where you discuss the scene and so does she. She’s a cool person.”
